Hooollleee cow! I've actually been back to work on this thing - it's about danged time!

I really set to work since the last update - I have been spending my tax returns on the truck this year, and the whole "Covid-19" situation has put me in a frame of mind to get some work done as well. Got the engne up to the shop and had a fair amount of work done. Components cleaned, crank polished, block cleaned, decked, and a fair amount of machine work done. I'm currently in the process of reassembling the engine, wth hopes that I'll get that done in the next few weeks, and finish the transmission this year, too. Goal is to have the drive train installed intot he truck (and maybe even tested) before this year is out. If I can pull that off, then next year will be all about the body.

I forgot how much work not only working on the truck, but maintaining this site is!

Turns out it's easy to lose momentum, and one of the things I sorely need is momentum to keep things going! So, I've done some little things throughout the year up to this point. Finally got the engine torn all the way down (except for that head stud). Tore down (again) and rebuilt the steering. Got a shop lined up to do the various work on block & engine components that need it - just gotta find the time to take it up there.

Also, just changed jobs, so extra busy on weekdays, and no time off to do things liek... oh, I dunno, take an engine up to the machine shop thta's an hour's drive away... D'oh.

OhMahGerd!! an update!:

Craptakular, it's been a long time. Finally getting to the point where I can get back to work on maybe getting stuff. I'll try to post an series of updates tomorrow (Sunday) - I'll also try to put p some info & pix on the various side- projects as well. Bear with me, it takes a lot of time to write this stuff up.

In the mean time, here's what's been going on...

Aug 2015 - Start of (a long overdue) divorce. No, it didn't have anything to do with the truck..
Jan 2015 - Ex is out of the house (Yes, I kept the house, the truck, and got the kids half time)
2015 - Had to refinance the house for more than I originally paid for it. Due to several years of neglect, it required some big ($$) work
2016 - Spent all my time (and $$) repairing my deck (also due to years of neglect)
2017 - Spent all my time (and $$) repairing my porch (also due to...)
2018 - Spent all my time building a new grill (the ex took the grill in the divorce)
2018 - Spent all my money on unexpected bills (New heat pump, and lots of medical between me and the kids)
early 2019 - here we are!

TINY update!:

Updated 2015 - thru 2017. (it was easy - see the 10 Oct update). I'm looking for the images of stuff that happened over that time, and if I ever find them, I'll post them. Also, here's hoping thta I can get some work done this year!

I realize it's been a long time since an update, and I apologize. Big events happened, followed by a lot of expensive, time-consuming work on the house that has kept me from doing the latest update or working on the truck. I'm behind about 5 month's worth of updates, and hopefully I'll be able to start back up in the Spring of 2018. I keep telling myself I'll push the other updates in the meantime, but life is a harsh taskmistress! Stay with me, I'm still working on it!
